Hello, we are in our temporary accommodation, something close, I think, to a dolls house.   So whilst most of my stash is packed and in storage I have a little to play with and we managed to make a small corner of the dolls house for me to play.    I cannot say how bored and frustrated I have been, as most crafters know it is a total addiction and I missed it terribly, almost to the point where I was beginning to fear that my mojo might have left me altogether.   Cannot wait until our own home is ready.

I have no telephone in this property and a very limited, if any, signal on my mobile.   I purchased a mobile wireless system which works but not brilliantly so with my limited stash I am going to try and upload a little of what I have been able to achieve.   Due to how long it takes to upload on the wireless I am not going to write a lot so I will just say that there are a couple of the cards which I have cased.  Hopefully most of you will know which stamp set is which.  All the card stock is Stampin' Up! some of the stamp sets may be retired or non SU.  I have just worked with what I was able to find.

Here goes

Stippled Blossoms

Well, one hour later here is what I have been doing.   Will be really glad when all my goodies are all around me.   I am find it limiting but hey, at least I have been able to play.

Thanks for looking and Happy Crafting.

19 December 2013

Hi all

I am still here, just not able to post anything.

We have finally made the first move into temporary accommodation.  It is very small, I call it our dolls house.    I have to say tho in spite of it being small I am relieved that we are here and we are warm and the people around us are friendly.

I have managed to squeeze a small crafting space but unable to get too adventurous as most of my toys are still in crates piled up to the ceiling in the smaller of the two bedrooms.

We will probably be here for a few months, depends on how long ours takes to build (we are buying a brand new park home).   I am really excited as we have managed to get a quite a big one and the second bedroom will be my dedicated craft space.   If we have visitors, they will be surrounded by my toys and the bath to sleep in is always an option.

Sorry if you have been bored coming to my page and nothing has been happening.   I have to say the last six months has been quite traumatic with idle promises of an exchange and then nothing.

Anyway, talk soon.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all.

11 October 2013

Hi all

Really have to apologise for absolutely no blogging for ages.   I am still here but not crafting, let me explain more.

We sold our house in June this year.   We are still waiting to exchange contracts.  There is only a chain of three, the solicitors at the bottom appear to be obstructive and not get everything moving. We are pulling our hair out.  We are moving to a park home in Guildford and we need the money in the bank to pay the for our new home to be built.   We will be moving to temporary accommodation whilst our home is being built, at this rate it will be after Christmas.

We signed our contract about six weeks ago our buyer has signed her contracts for the sale and purchase, we are just WAITING.

So, as we signed our contacts so long a go and were led to believe exchange etc would be imminent we started packing and sorting what would go into storage, what we need to survive now and what we may need in temporary accommodation.

Therefore all my craft stash has been packed for some weeks now,  all for storage has gone, I am so  fed up.  We are living out of boxes and sleeping on the floor,

My wonderful son, who lives in Scotland, has been helping us put possessions into storage and has been waiting around to help us move to Ashford in Kent.  He is also bored and has been travelling backwards and forwards to Scotland by train to see his wife and has had to leave their dog here.  We love having the dog, but she is sadly missed by her mum and she misses her dad when he is not here.

So just keeping our fingers crossed that it happens soon.

30 August 2013

I have been trying to make some cards whilst packing but it is becoming more difficult as my craft stash is gradually being transferred to boxes and it is really frustrating trying to find what I want when I want it.

So here is a some of the cards I have put together, some of them are already packed into their cellophane card bags so I apologise for the reflection and one or two of them might be a bit blurred.

Stamp Set Giggle Greetings

My mother in law is quite poorly in hospital so this is her Get Well Card, bless her she is 93years young.  Daydream Medallions stamp set and Floral Frames framelits.  The heart is from the stamp set Hearts a Flutter

Flower Garden Stamp set with an image from Timeless Talk on a Shrinkie

Six Sided Sampler stamp set, background stamped using the stapamajig

As previous using the new deco labels framelits, the sentiment is now retired

Stamp sets, Perfectly Penned, Mosaic Madness and Background Builders.  Mosaic embossing folder, new Cheveron Punch

Stamp set Flower Garden, Masking technique, very busy card, not sure if I like it

Stamp set Timeless Talk, Honeycomb embossing folder and Circles Framelits, Gatefold card

Another gatefold using non SU flower stamp, Window Frames Collection framelits

Stamp set Timeless Talk
Well hope that might give some inspiration, sorry not to have put up more information but I can't find everthing I used to correctly name it.

Hope to see you soon.

Wedding Card

I made this card for my niece's wedding on behalf of my son and his wife.   It was totally inspired by Karen Burniston, using the PoP 'n Cuts die for the Big Shot.  So I say thanks Karen I had great fun recreating your creation.

I must say I thought I had put these two easel cards up before, I made them back in July.  My excuse is that we are presently packing.   We are going into temporary accommodation for a while until our new home is ready.  So downsizing and packing for storage has been a bit of a nightmare.  So forgive me if I am even more lax in posting.

This stamp set Flower Garden comes with a matching punch but I decided not to punch out the flowers but to use the masking technique.  In fact I used the masking technique for both these cards.

I really cannot remember the colours etc as so much as already been packed.  The stamp sets are Flower Garden and a hostess set named Simply Sketched.  The shapes are cut out using the new Circles framelits.

Bits and Bobs

My goodness, it is hot, I think the computer is also very hot, very slow to respond today.  Not complaining, just pleased to see how everything looks so much better when the sun shines.

These are a few of some more new stamps I have been playing with.

Marina Mist and Real Red, new Deco Labels Dies.  Simply Sketched Hostess Set.  New Baroque embossing folder which I very lightly ran over with a brayer in Marine Mist ink.

Stamped using the new You Are My Hero stamp set, coloured with a blender pen and markers.   Oval Framelits.

Blushing Bride and Pistachio Pudding again, the background is with the new Baroque embossing folder which I brayer prior to putting through the Big Shot.   The stamp set is Field Flowers.

Another new Set, Flower Garden which also has a matching punch.  There are six different flowers.  The dies are the new Circles Framelits

The inside of the card above using the New Stamp Set Timeless Talk.
Finally, using Crisp Cantaloupe, whisper white, Crushed Curry and Early Espresso card stock and the new Circle Framelits.  The Butterflies are from Best of Butterflies, part of the 25year Celebration sets SU are doing.  This is the second set in the series, the first being Best of Flowers.  The sentiment is stamped with Perfectly Penned.

Six Sided Sampler

One of the new stamp sets is called Six Sided Sampler and has a punch to match.   I have been playing with the set over the last few days and here are some of the cards I have made.

This is just a very simple card.  I put the card front through the Big Shot using the Honeycombed embossing folder and then brayer across the whole card, punched out some hexagons using the punch, cut off the edges and inserted them into the squares.

For this card I punched out several hexagons from one of the new designer papers, Soho Subway, with the punch, inked the edges, and adhered them to a backidng sheet.  I used Island Indigo and Summer Starfruit card.   The sentiment is stamped onto the Coaster Board, new in the catalogue and cut out using the new framelits, Chalk Talk.

This is the same idea as above but I used lots of scrap designer papers to punch out the shapes, adhered them to a backing sheet and put through the Big Shot using the Square Lattice embossing folder.  The image is also stamped onto Coaster Board and cut out using the Chalk Talk dies

This time I stamped out the images from the Six Sided Sampler stamp set, adhered them all to a backing sheet and then cut them out using the Floral Frames.  The little flower on the base of the card is made using the new Clay in the catalogue.  It is white and you can use reinkers to colour, colour with markers or sponge the colour on as I did on this one.   I do love easel cards.   The colours are as the wedding invitations, blushing bride and pistachio pudding.  The butterfly is stamped with SU's Best of Butterflies.

Wedding Card

Hi all,

Like always, not posted a lot but have been making.

This is a wedding card that I was asked to make especially for their son.  Not everything is SU but all the card stock is.  I used the colours wisteria wonder, shimmery white and some brushed silver.

I have also been busy making about 80 wedding invitations

The shape is made from the Floral Framelits, the colours are very vanilla, blushing bride and pistachio pudding.   They are not colours that I, personally, would have put together but the lady did and I have to say they really looked effective.   The prospective bride is Chinese and she felt that the shape etc looked like a Chinese Lotus Blossom.  The wording on the front are not SU, but everything else is.

A Couple More

Am loving this new catalogue, lots of new things to try, new punches, new dies, in fact lots of goodies that I can't wait to play with.   I want it all and I want it now (stamps feet, wishing I was very wealthy).

Island Indigo, Whisper White and Pool Party card The two old in colours that have joined the colour collection.

The card open, I should also mention that there is a gorgeous embossing folder that matches the stamp set

Love this, we have clay and moulds.  So easy to use either with the moulds or without.  I have seen the most beautiful roses made by hand.   You can use the re-inkers to colour the clay or paint with the markers which is what I did with the two roses here.

The flower image is not SU but everything else is.  It is made using the Floral Frames die and the matching Daydream Medallions stamp set.

Thats all for now, be back when my first parcel of stunning new goodies arrives.  Can't wait.
