Yesterday a couple of fellow demonstrators came to my house and we did what is called a shoe box swap as well as a couple of normal swaps. A shoe box swap is designing a card and then putting all the ingredients to make the card in a box and that you send the box round the table and everybody gets an opportunity to make the card. There were supposed to be another couple of demos but unfortunately they were unable to attend due to illness. Anyway the three of us had a great time and swapped a few techniques.
The card on the left was my swap. I used the Fancy flower and Printed Petal stamp sets, all the circle punches. The colours are not quite navy, whisper white and daffodil delight. The card on the right was the card I designed for the shoe box swap. The stamp set is Just Believe, the colours concord crush and peach parfait.
This is Amanda's shoe box swap. It uses the rock and roll technique and twisting. Great fun.
Rachel then showed us what she has been doing with the shimmer paints. Instead of just spraying we mixed some shimmer pain with reinkers and it gives a very shimmery effect. We also played with the polished stone effect (the card on the left) to use as a background.
I then went on to play with the shimmer paints and colours and made these two cards. The colours are marina mist, real red and whisper white. The stamp set is crazy for cupcakes. I am not sure if you will be able to see the shimmer on the painting.
